Valentin Spitsyn’s Portfolio

Synopsis

Talented designer Valentin Spitsyn called on me to convert his portfolio into a full-fledged WordPress theme. Not only was the purpose of this to add a blog, but it was also meant to streamline editing the content on the site. In addition to the basics, my work included adding custom validation to his contact form along with optimizations that ultimately resulted in a fairly high YSlow grade (~95%). Perhaps the results are best summarized by Valentin himself:

Details

In order to accomodate the portfolio theme of the website, I employed custom WordPress post types to separate works from blog posts, resulting in a clear separation between the two types of content. Once the theme was finished, I also securely installed and customized WordPress based on my “20 Steps to a Flexible and Secure WordPress Installation” article. Best of all, once everything was said and done, Valentin was more than satisfied, noting:

Any time I have some client work regarding WordPress, you’ll be the first person I go to. I just hope you’ll have enough time!
